NoticeVPNAVY UPDATES SUSPENDEDNotice

- HAVING MAJOR NETWORK PROBLEMS -

17JUN2020

My InterNet Service Provider (COMCAST/XFINITY) is blocking my access to VPNAVY, FTP and VPNAVY Mail (via xFi Advanced Security) saying it was flagged as a dangerous (i.e., blacklisted) site (or something like that) and is preventing everyone using their service from accessing VPNAVY.   Based on my research that means over 26.5 million broadband internet subscribers are blocked from visiting VPNAVY.

I have been in touch (help line) with COMCAST/XFINITY since 30MAY2020 trying to find out what is going on. Everyone is very polite and suggests I shut off their COMCAST/XFINITY's xFi Advanced Security. Unfortunately, that exposes me to other threats and still prevents other subscribers (who don't know to shut off xFi Advanced Security) from accessing VPNAVY. Still - as nice as their support staff is - they don't know why VPNAVY is blacklisted and will look into it, etc. Bottom Line - I am off the air!

The company housing VPNAVY files (SELECT HOSTING) says they can't find anything wrong with my server.   They globally tried accessing VPNAVY without any problems.    It appears that only COMCAST/XFINITY is blocking VPNAVY from their subscribers.

So, VPNAVY is dead in the water.   Getting VPNAVY Mail and updated files is a tortuous and extremely time consuming process (since I can't use COMCAST/XFINITY).

I have decided it is a battle I can't win since I have no idea why it is being blocked.

I have noticed that once "someone" flag's a site as dangerous - others follow. Since I haven't been able to find out why VPNAVY is blacklisted (and/or dangerous), I can't "fix" the problem that no one will identify to me. The only other thing that I have battled with over the years is spammer's using my e-mail address for a flood of spam e-mail's every year. I get 100's of "bounced" e-mails caused by spammers using my e-mail as a return address. Along with that I get a bunch of people complaining to me for spamming them. I have simply deleted those messages over the years praying it would all stop one day. Maybe enough complaints have caused "someone" in power to flag VPNAVY as dangerous? If something IS really dangerous - I have no other choice but to take VPNAVY down and remove all files, etc.

If I can't find a solution soon - I will official shutdown (remove) VPNAVY from my server August 9th, 2020 (just in case their really is a problem I am not aware of...).

It has been a fun ride since 1996 thanks to everyone that has contributed to VPNAVY.

Stay Safe and Good Hunting!
