Upon completion of Recruit Training he reported to Meridian, MS for YN "A" school. Master Chief Bolden active duty assignments include: Fighter Squadron ONE SIX ONE aboard the USS MIDWAY (CV-41) at Yokosuka, Japan, where he was assigned as the Administrative and Operations Yeoman completing three Indian Ocean deployments. His next assignment was VP-56 in NAS Jacksonville, Florida, assigned as the Communications and Operations Yeoman. His final active duty assignment was Aviation Officer Candidate School (AOCS) Command in Pensacola, Florida, where he was assigned to the Administrative Office. While assigned in NAS Pensacola, Florida, he applied for and was approved conversion to the Training and Administration of the Reserves (TAR) Program. Reserve Force assignments include: Commander, Naval Reserve Construction Force at Greensboro, North Carolina, where he worked as AT/ADT/IDTT Coordinator for the Southeast Region. Boyer was born in Washington, D.C., attended the University of Maryland, and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Later that year, he was accepted into the Aviation Officer Candidate Program at Pensacola, Florida, was commissioned an Ensign in 1978, and was designated a Naval Aviator in August 1979. Following fleet replacement training in the P-3 Orion aircraft, in April 1980 he reported to VP-17 at NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii. Flying the P-3, he qualified as a Patrol Plane Commander, Mission Commander, Instructor Pilot and Maintenance Check Pilot. His ground assignments included Avionics/ Armament Division Officer and Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Officer. During his tour of duty, Captain Boyer deployed to NAS Cubi Point, Philippines and participated in detachments to NAS Agana, Guam, NSF Diego Garcia, and NAS Adak, Alaska. His next assignment in August 1983 was to Navy Recruiting District Jacksonville, Florida where he served for three years as an Officer Programs Recruiter. During this tour, he was accepted into the Training and Administration of the Reserves (TAR) program. In August 1986 Captain Boyer reported to his first Reserve squadron, VP-62, at NAS Jacksonville, Florida where he re-qualified as a plane commander and mission commander. His ground jobs included Safety Officer and Operations Officer. During his tour, VP-62 underwent an extensive transition from the P-3C MOD aircraft to the then state-of-the-art P-3C Update III. He was next assigned to VP-64 at NAS Willow Grove, Pennsylvania where he served as both the Operations Officer and Maintenance Officer. During this tour, he was selected for follow-on assignment as a squadron Officer-in-Charge (OIC). In July 1991 Captain Boyer reported to VP-62 as the OIC. Over the next 18 months, VP-62 conducted counter-drug operations out of NS Roosevelt Roads, PR and NAS Key West, Florida, and was deployed to NAS Bermuda for six weeks of Annual Training. Following his OIC tour in January 1993, he reported to Naval Air Reserve (NAR) Jacksonville where he served as the Reserve Programs Director and Executive Officer. During his tour, NAR Jacksonville won the Ensign C.H. Hammann Award as the most efficient NAR in the Force. From August 1996 to June 1997, Captain Boyer attended the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C., graduating with a Masters Degree in National Resource Strategy. His next assignment was at Reserve Patrol Wing Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia where he served as Chief Staff Officer (CSO). As CSO, he managed the Wing's Squadron Assist Visit Program for five (and later seven) squadrons, and oversaw the career progression of numerous TAR aviation officers. He was also instrumental in the consolidation of Reserve Patrol Wings Atlantic and Pacific into a single Reserve Patrol Wing. In September 1999 Captain Boyer reported to the Joint Staff in Washington, D.C. where he served as the Deputy Division Chief in the Forces Division, Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment Directorate, J-8. He was selected for Major Command in September 2001. His military decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (4) and numerous other unit awards and decorations. Paul authored a book titled: "The Flying, Fighting Weathermen Of Patrol Wing Four" The book includes the two day bombing of Dutch Harbor by Japanese carrier planes. CUNNINGHAM, AWCM William S. After that I transferred to VP-30 for instructor duty, where I had a hand in 2F140 WST acceptance, cementing the Update III track in place, and working the ill-fated P-7 project! From there, I separated and joined the Naval Reserve in August 1990 with VP-62. The Reserves has been good to me as I have advanced from an AW1 in 1990 to AWCM in 2001. At VP-62, I serve in the CMC's office as the "Gold Wing SEA" and SS-1 on Combat Aircrew Eight. On the outside, I am with LSI providing curriculum support to VP-30. We could easily out-turn them in a circle and nail 'em.....By the way, since the underground atomic test explosion on Amchitka, the place is now known as Amka".....(They blew the "chit" out of it !!!) He was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Anthony (Rad) Dorsett, Jr., and his brother, Kemp Dorsett. A member of the Perry Frist Baptist Church, he was in the Buice Sunday School Class. CDR Dorsett served as an anti submarine warfare plane commander with VP-44 while on active duty in the United States Navy. He continued to serve his country for 17 additional years in the Navy Reserves with VP-62, NAS Jacksonville, Florida, retiring in 1995. He began farming with his father in 1976, land that has been in his family since 1856. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the E. H. Cheek Scholarship Fund, on the Board of Directors of Houston County Farm Bureau, Board of Directors of the Perry-Houston County Airport Authority, Board of Trust for the Westfield Schools, member of the Houston County Young Farmers and Agribusinessmen's Assocation and member of the Order of the Daedalians. Fava is from Charleston, South Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a Naval ROTC Scholarship. IN 1985, upon graduation from UNC, CDR Fava was commissioned and reported to NAS Pensacola, Florida for Naval Flight Officer training. FULLER, LCDR Scott Circa 2005 http://reserves.navy.mil/ "...Lieutenant Commander Fuller, a native of Lockport, New York, graduated from the University of Rochester and was commissioned an Ensign in May of 1991. Following Flight Training, he was designated a Naval Flight Officer in March 1993. Upon completion of Fleet Replacement Training at VP-30 in February 1994, Lieutenant Commander Fuller reported for his first operational tour with the "War Eagles" of VP-16 at NAS Jacksonville, Florida. Serving as ASW TACCO and NFO Training Officer, he deployed to NAS Keflavik, Iceland and NAS Sigonella, Sicily. He was also designated a Patrol Plane Tactical Coordinator, Mission Commander, Instructor TACCO and a NATOPS Instructor TACCO. In January of 1997, Lieutenant Commander Fuller returned to the "Pro's Nest" of VP-30 to serve as a Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) Instructor. While assigned to VP-30 he served as a member of the ASUW Improvement Program (AIP) Fleet Introduction Team (FIT), where he was responsible for the introduction of AIP aircraft throughout the P-3 community. After a year of serving on the FIT, he led the Fleet NATOPS Team as the Senior NFO Evaluator. Designations included FRS Instructor TACCO, Mission Commander, AIP FIT Instructor, Instructor Under Training (IUT) Instructor and Fleet NATOPS Evaluator. In January 1999, Lieutenant Commander Fuller was accepted into the Training and Administration of Reserve (TAR) Program and reported to the Reserve ASW Training Center (RATCEN) at NAS Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, where he served as the Training Officer, Block Modification Upgrade Program (BMUP) Transition Officer and Director of Training. While at RATCEN he developed and led the Naval Reserve through its transition from the P-3C Update II/II.5 to the most advanced ASW platform, the BMUP aircraft. After a rewarding tour at RATCEN, Lieutenant Commander Fuller reported back to NAS Jacksonville, Florida in September 2002 where he served as the Training Officer and Maintenance Officer for the VP-62 "Broadarrows." While with the Broadarrows, Lieutenant Commander Fuller detached to NAF Kadena, Okinawa, Japan and NAS Sigonella, Sicily in support of the Global War on Terrorism. There I completed qualifications for Mission Commander in the P-3A "Orion" aircraft and held collateral duties as Public Affairs Officer. Our operational deployments included NAS Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, tracking the first Soviet nuclear submarine detected in the Gulf of Mexico; NATO Maritime Patrol School in Londonderry, Northern Ireland; NATO exercises in Norway; and routine ASW missions from NAS Bermuda, the NAF Lajes, Azores, Portugal and NAS Sigonella, Sicily. I was released from active duty in December 1971 and affiliated with the Naval Air Reserve and was assigned to VP-62. In addition to leading a top-rated aircrew, I held ground positions in every department, including three department head assignments, to round out more than 13 years in the reserve squadron. I was transferred to the Individual Ready Reserve where he held command of the Naval Air Facility Mayport, Fla., reserve augment unit (NAF-0174) and Volunteer Training Unit 7474 (VTU-7474). I also performed active duty for training (ADT) assignments in the Pentagon, Naval War College, Navy Postgraduate School, Air University and National Defense University. I was recalled to active duty in 1991 and designated Project RESTAR (Reserve Transition and Recognition) Officer for Naval Air Reserve NAS Jacksonville, Florida responsible for the welfare and recognition of more than 400 reservists mobilized during the Gulf War. I was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal and Letters of Commendation as "the architect of an innovative, effective and extremely successful (public affairs) program." She flew as Oceanographic Project Coordinator, Mission Commander and Detachment Officer-in-Charge on board the specially configured P-3 aircraft. Hire instructed student naval flight officers in the classroom, simulator, and on board the T-43 aircraft at the Naval Air Training Unit on Mather Air Force Base, California. She progressed from Navigation Instructor through Course Manager to Curriculum Manager and was awarded the Air Force Master of Flying Instruction. In January 1989, Hire joined the Naval Air Reserve at NAS Jacksonville, Florida. Her tours of duty included Squadron Augment Unit VP-0545 and Anti-submarine Warfare Operations Center 0574 and 0374. Hire became the first female in the United States assigned to a combat aircrew when she reported to VP-62 on May 13, 1993. As a Patrol Plane Navigator/Communicator she deployed to NAS Keflavik, Iceland, NS Roosevelt Roads, PR and NAS Coco Solo, Panama, Canal Zone. Hire later served with CV-63 USS Kittyhawk 0482, Tactical Support Center 0682, Commander Seventh Fleet Detachment 111, and U.S.Naval Central Command Detachment 108. NASA EXPERIENCE: Hire began work at the Kennedy Space Center in May 1989, first as an Orbiter Processing Facility 3 Activation Engineer and later as a Space Shuttle Orbiter Mechanical Systems Engineer for Lockheed Space Operations Company. In 1991 she certified as a Space Shuttle Test Project Engineer (TPE) and headed the checkout of the Extravehicular Mobility Units (spacesuits) and Russian Orbiter Docking System. She was assigned Supervisor of Space Shuttle Orbiter Mechanisms and Launch Pad Swing Arms in 1994. Selected by NASA in December 1994, Hire reported to the Johnson Space Center in March 1995. Great tour with the Mad Foxes ("Desert Foxes” - Desert Storm went well enough…). Got out in 1992 and started my own business in Jax. After September 11th, 2001, I felt compelled to serve again, and was fortunate enough to get a Sel/Res IFT billet with the Broadarrows of VP-62, served 2001-2004 (P-3C AIP). Became an Ord-Qualified IFT. Participated in OEF/GWOT and several other "good" deals. Went IRR 11/2004.
