Six patrol squadron men lost their lives on 11 September 2001 as terrorists struck the Pentagon. Their identity and a brief description of their U.S. Navy careers is provided below. CDR Donovan was assigned as the OPNAV N-513 Strategy & Concepts Action Officer. His prior assignments include VP-11, VP-31, Naval Post Graduate School, CVN-73, VP-1, and OPNAV N-512 (Policy and Doctrine). He is survived by his wife Elaine and their three young children. He retired from the Navy in July 2000. He is survived by his wife Janice and their two children.
