UPDATE "...In the historical comments about VP-67 it is mentioned that the tail logo was changed to a "yellow chicken head". Actually the logo was a stylized golden hawk. From a distance it appeared to look like a chicken head and it's bright yellow color didn't help much, but it is actually a "swooping" hawk (extended talon included). The unofficial nickname of "Thunderchickens" and "Thunderchicken Airlines" are correct though, and I can only assume that they were a product of the unfortunate resemblence of a chicken's head from a distance. Never-the-less....the nickname stuck and we were proud of it..." Contributed by James "Jay" Moncrief ArloGu3@yahoo.com [06JAN98]

UPDATE "...VP-67 was also know as the "Thunder Chickens", and "Thunder Chickens Airlines" after the Golden Hawk was replaced on the tail with that big yellow chicken head..." Contributed by Ray Gladwin rediray@ecpi.com
