"...I logged about 1800 hours in LK 7, then LK 1 (CDR Cullen assumed the skipper's role after we returned from the deployment), BUNO:131435, from 1963 to 1965. In fact, I was in the nose when this picture was taken while flying around Mt. Etna in Sicily. I was taking pictures of our sister aircraft (I believe it was either LK 2 or LK 8) as we got some local pilot training in. We took turns having the volcano in the background for the pictures. March 1964 is the approximate time frame for the picture, since we arrived on February 16, and the volcano was not yet smoking. It started to smolder in the late April time frame...Tom Gaff tfgmjg@metrocast.net..." [28NOV2002]
