Memorial Picture "...ZABRISKIE, Donald...To all VP-24 Shipmates: I just received a letter from Jane Zabriski, the wife on Shipmate Donald Zabriskie. On February 4, 2001 Don answered the final muster. To those of you who knew Don, I think you will agree he was a good Shipmate. In his last years while suffering from terminal cancer, he was not to concearned with how much more time he had but rather how he would use the time granted him. I communicated with him frequently, he was always upbeat and never bitter. I hope you will all bid Don a good ferwell and hope we will all serve together again in the new life that never ends. God bless his wife and family..." Contributed by Herman Jacobs Wild1930@AOL.com [24FEB2001]

On our way "steaming" to the Phillipine Islands, we stopped the ship over the deepest part of the Pacific ocean and put out the cargo nets and we all went for a swim! We spent a lot of time patroling the Formosa Straits using the P5M'S. I made 2 patrol flights as a "back-up radioman". Looking to communicate with other USS Kenneth Whiting (AV-14] Shipmates..."
