On Sunday, 6 October 2002 the 6th annual VP International Memorial service took place in front of the VPI Memorial at 14 Wing Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Over 100 attended this years ceremony which included the induction of the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) Maritime Patrol casualties into the Book of Remembrance. Captain Jong-Woo Kim, Commander Air Group 61, ROKN and Commander Kwang-Bum Hur, Commanding Officer 611 Squadron, ROKN travelled from the Republic of Korea to participate in this service and to honour the 15 ROKN casualties that were placed into the Book.

The names of 94 USN casualties from aircraft accidents between 1948 and 1966 were also placed into the Book of Remembrance. Captain William Yeager, USN and Lieutenant Paul Hockran from CTF 57/72 in Japan represented the USN in honouring their casualties.

The service began with VPI President, Major Bert Campbell welcoming participants. Colonel Gerry Morey, Wing Commander 14 Wing then addressed the service. This was followed by Major Norm Donovan, CAF (Ret'd) presenting the Book of Remembrance into which the 109 names were inducted. The Last Post was played by Capt David Moore. During the Minute of Silence, a CP 140 Aurora, flown by Captain Mary Cameron-Kelly flew over the Memorial site. Captain Carl French piped the Lament and Captain Moore sounded Reveille. Padre Marshall then delivered the Act of Remembrance...Let us remember before God, and commend to His sure keeping: those who have died for their country in war, in peacekeeping, and all who have lived and died in the service of mankind. They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, not the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning – we shall remember them!

Wreaths were laid on behalf of the 14 countries represented in the Book of Remembrance. Captain Kim, ROKN then addressed the assembled with words of thanks for the VPI organization and gratitude for the placing of his country's casualties into the Book of Remembrance.
