Buy Your Own Bricks
NAS Glenview, Illinois

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to update you on the project to buy your own bricks at NAS Glenview, Illinois. There is an effort by the Hanger One Foundation to help you live in infamy.

The foundation people will be at the Glenview Survivors Dinner to sell the bricks. I asked for info to send to you but have not gotten anything yet. What I know at this time, is it will cost $100.00 per brick. You can have 3 lines and 14 letters per line. The bricks will go in front of the former hanger one. I am not sure if there will be a limited area for these bricks. Hopefully I will get information in the future with more specific details. But if you want to get more info quickly go to the survivors dinner on May 16th.

The attached files are a picture of the front of base ops, hanger one. On the right of the old entrance is part of the new mall.

The other file is an overview of the old base. The only remaining buildings are the old chapel and hanger one. The pink area in the middle is where hanger one is. The purple area on the left is the Navy housing that was next to our hanger. Our hanger was in the green area next to the purple area. The Chapel is now in the yellow area in the bottom right side. It is called the Schram Memorial. Runway 17/35 ran up the middle of the developement. The lake is East of the runway and where the Southeast taxiway was. R/W 9/27 goes through the golf course at the bottom and the yellow housing area. I got these pictures from Ron Leis when he made his trip to Glenview last month.

John
