SPAR
SPAR has contributed greatly to the project. Without their expertise we would not have been able to restore this aircraft to airworthy standard. SPAR Aerospace Limited has come on-side with us.
SPAR is a large company that does all kinds of heavy maintenance on Military and Commercial aircraft. If my facts are correct, they are the only Lockheed Approved Maintenance Station (other than the factory in Marietta, GA.) in North America for the Hercules aircraft so what better place to find the expertise on Lockheed products? They are also located on the same field as the VMFA.
SPAR has generously offered to do the major structural components that were damaged when CF-FAV crashed on the tundra in 1953. To date, they have completed the left wing and using that knowledge, are repairing the heavily damaged right wing. The work is fantastic and progress is good. We are currently working at moving the fuselage over to their hangar to join the wings and tail section.
