Tooooo bad they closed down NAS Moffett Field, California. Served with VQ-1 from 1972-75. It was my first tour of duty and loved it. Made deployments to NAS Cubi Point, Philippines aaahh the cold SAN MIGUEL beer was great. NAS Atsugi, Japan remember PR16? also to DANANG, VN watch for incoming!!!! OSAN, KOREA how about some oscar!! and the USS.RANGER. Rig the barricade!! Worked on all the birds EA3B WHALES, EP-3E ARIES, EC121 CONNIES. And the RA3B Photo birds. To all the people I served with,what a pleasure. A lot of good memories of all the people I worked with. KEEP THE FAITH!...Served with VAW-116 from 1987-1991 aboard the USS RANGER (Top Gun). Best E2C Hawkeye outfit on the west coast -bar none!!! Was the Powerplants Sup/Q.A. rep. Looking for any Mechs that was out there when we went to DESERT STORM, what a ride!!! After leaving the War Eagles I served with HC-16 in NAS Pensacola, Florida from 1985 to 1989. I then left the Navy and became a law enforcement officer with the City of Chickasaw, Al from 1989 to 1994. I joined up with the Navy Reserve in 1990 and served with the air detachment USS Lexington AVT-16, then was activated for the Gulf War in 1991 and served with VAW-116 aboard the USS Ranger CV-61. After returning I left the reserves due to work conflicts. I joined the Mobile Fire Rescue Dept in 1994 and currently work there now. I got back into the reserves, and was assigned and currently serve with VP-94 in NAS New Orleans, Louisiana where I have been since 1995. Would be thrilled to hear from old lost friends..."
