ZORN, Nicholas D. (Nick) (Deceased) zorn@pcola.gulf.net "...I started out in VP-10 as an ATAN in late 1952. Left for "B" school as an AT1 in summer of 1955. Shore duty after that at NAS NAAS Saufley Field, Florida until selected for the "Seaman to Admiral" program in '58. After OCS I spent a year on the USS Davis (DD-937). Then flight school, rag and on to VP-23 in mid 1961. Made many deployments to NAS Sigonella, Sicily, NAS Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, NS Roosevelt Roads, PR, along with NAS Keflavik, Iceland in October, 1964. I was PPC of Crew 2. Copilot and wonderful human being was Tom Case, Tacco was Frank Natchez. First tech was Wild Bill Orral. Anybody remember or know where ADRC Rose is? Or having to pull our plane in with a tracked tractor after we landed in a 55 knots gusting 70 cross wind? It's great to see so much info here about the VPNavy. I later went back to Saufley as a flight instructor then ComCruDesFlot Six staff and then two tours in VP-26 as Maintenance Officer (first tour) and XO (second time). Came down with Guillian Barre' Syndrom after a trip to Lima, Peru and finally retired Sep 30, 1975 after 24 years one month and 9 days active duty. I still miss it!..."
