CAPTAIN Kidd was the XO under CAPTAIN Harlin Purdy and was the first CO to fly the P-3A after the VP-50 transition. He served as Commodore Patrol Wing Three, NAS Brunswick, Maine. Other tours of duty included VP-23 and VP-40. There will be an interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, September 16, 2002 at 13:00 hours.
